Flat steel refers to steel with a width of 12-300mm, a thickness of 3-60mm, a rectangular cross-section and slightly blunt edges. Flat steel can be finished steel, and can also be used as blanks for welded pipes and thin slabs for stacked thin plates.
Main application: Flat steel can be used as a finished material to make hoop iron, tools and mechanical parts, and it can be used as a structural part of a house frame and an escalator in a building.
Flat steel is divided into two types according to its shape: flat spring flat steel and single-sided double-groove spring flat steel. Hot-rolled spring flat steel is mainly used to manufacture leaf springs on machinery such as automobiles, tractors, and railway transportation.
